About

Hi There! My real name is Laurilyn and I’m a 45 year old mom of two. In 2010, I found myself alive but in heart failure after surviving a complicated open heart surgery. A year later, I was told my repaired valve was not working properly and I was diagnosed with cardiac myopathy. After another year of cardiac meds that significantly improved my heart function, with my cardiologist’s blessing, I started running. I also started a blog.  My stubborn efforts to evolve into an athlete have been hilarious and entertaining to say the least, and I see no good reason to keep my ridiculous antics to myself. This is my (mostly) humorous blog about my crazy life and adventures in running, racing, and cardiac fitness.
